'Showdown '09!'
Besides celebrating StarCentral Magazine's third year anniversary next year, Showdown '09 also boasts 3 main
features for the night: The presentation of our StarCentral Entertainment Awards, the culmination of our annual Cover Girl
search and the showdown of eight dynamic dance crews from Sydney! The StarCentral Entertainment Awards are presented
annually by StarCentral Magazine for outstanding achievements in the Local Community. The categories and
nominations are voted by the readers and supporters of StarCentral Magazine. Thus, the StarCentral Entertainment Awards
are mainly fan awards.
Face it, there are some seriously talented individuals down under! The concept behind the Entertainment Awards is
to bring these dancers, models, bands & soloists to your desktop, for you to vote on. Our aim, is get
these talented individuals, respect and adoration from the 1000's of people visiting our site each and
every day. Who do you think should be hailed as Hip Hop group of the year? Who will eventually prevail as Dance Crew of the year?
Which model deserves the StarCentral plaque? Vote now, Australia!
NOTE: You can only vote once a day on the voting polls so please vote WISELY!
ELIGIBILITY
Entries must fall into one of the 10 awards categories. Entries may be submitted into a maximum of 2 categories,
if applicable.
StarCentral Magazine in their sole discretion reserve the right to disqualify any entry at any point in the voting
process on the basis of the appearance of impropriety.
DEADLINES
Voting officially commences on February 17 2009 and draws to an end on April 17 2009. The final deadline for entries
for the 2008 Entertainment Awards is January 01 2009.
SELECTION OF CATEGORIES
The categories are determined at the sole discretion of StarCentral Magazine. The inclusion of a category one year
does not necessarily dictate that it will be included in future years.
JUDGING PROCESS
Entries will be judged based purely on the results of the voting polls. The top 2 leaders of the voting polls will
be allocated exclusive complimentary tickets to 'Showdown 2009'
wherein the winners will then be announced and presented with the StarCentral plaque.
Individuals are eligible to win only one award for a specific category, they can no longer be nominated again for the same category
the following year.
All eligible entries understands and acknowledges that if they don't emerge as the winner in the category they were nominated in,
they are automatically nominated again for the same category the following year unless they have formally advised
StarCentral Magazine that they wish to be taken out of the voting polls.
THE PRIZE
The winners will be notified by email and/or phone as soon the voting poles come to an end. All plaques must be redeemed by the
winners on Showdown '09, If a winner cannot be reached, or if a winner fails to attend the awards night within the designated
time period then winner forfeits prize and the plaque will not be awarded.
THE ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS NIGHT
Winners will be announced at 'Showdown 2009' at St Marys Band Club to an audience of around 700.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Each entrant represents, warrants and agrees that they owns the rights to all materials supplied in connection with
an awards entry and such materials do not and will not defame, infringe or violate the trademark, copyright, patent or
privacy rights or any other rights or any third party and are not the subject of any actual or threatened litigation
or claim.
By entering the Entertainment Awards, each entrant expressly authorizes StarCentral Magazine to use the specific text and visual
materials submitted for the purposes of promoting the Entertainment awards in presentations, reports for publication,
website and media activities as well as other forms of promotions/publicity materials in all media now known or hereafter
developed.
If for any reason the StarCentral Entertainment Awards are not capable of running as planned due to acts beyond the control of
Starcentral Magazine, including acts of force majeure, acts of war, domestic terrorism, fraud, technical failures, or
any other causes beyond the control of StarCentral Magazine, which corrupt or affect the administration, security,
fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Entertainment Awards, StarCentral Magazine reserve the right at their
sole discretion, to terminate or cancel the Awards night without any liability.
If an entry is nominated for an award or receives an award, the manner and details of announcing such nomination and
award is strictly within the discretion of StarCentral Magazine. Entrant understands and acknowledges that all awards
may not be given or publicized in the same manner, and some may be presented at 'Showdown 2009' while others may not.
